Understanding STEM Education

STEM education is being talked about more and more due to the positive impact it has on young minds. Without STEM classes, children would lack an introduction to problem-solving and cognitive thinking abilities. Not all schools are able to afford a quality STEM education due to budgetary constraints. Dr. Jenkins with the IRISE Research & Discovery Science is bringing a low-cost STEM education option to classrooms everywhere.

What is STEM?

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. At its core, STEM classes are an interdisciplinary approach to learning about the world and how it works. Through STEM education, children learn important skills, such as problem-solving, collaboration, and teamwork.

Why is STEM Education Important?

Technology is evolving faster than ever. Children are being born today that will have no concept of life without the internet or even social media. Since technology is such an integral part of our lives, it is important to have a good understanding of how it works. STEM classes not only prepare students for a future career in engineering or technology but also gives students the core foundation to succeed in other fields. Contrary to popular belief, STEM classes also foster creativity. A creative mind is necessary for building, designing, and conceptualizing new technology. Without a proper STEM background, students will be stymied throughout the remainder of their school career.

How to Enroll in the IRISE Research & Discovery Science?

Dr. Jenkins wants every child, no matter their socioeconomic background, to be exposed to a quality STEM education. Therefore, the enrollment process is very simple. Dr. Jenkins offers two research project options currently. The school can either send its teachers to specialized training where they receive the materials and information to bring the research project back to the classroom.

Alternatively, The IRISE Research & Discovery Science organization can send instructors directly to your classrooms to teach the students. With both options, the IRISE Research & Discovery Science organization provides all training materials and everything that you will need to successfully complete the experiment with your students. Please contact Dr. Jenkins at 678-785-9662 to learn more about what we have to offer. Our educational materials have been hand-crafted by Dr. Jenkins to optimally teach students STEM concepts.
